About the project
As an Environmental Science/Management and Ecological Restoration major at Humboldt State University (CA), I will be going to Ulithi Atoll in Micronesia with Cabrillo College professor (and friend) Nicole Crane and other scientists to practice coral reef management. We will be gathering data through coral reef and fish population surveys. The data will be shared with the native people so they can make decisions about how to manage their reefs.
This project is an excellent opportunity in the interdisciplinary aspects of environmental science and management. It will allow me to apply my skills in data collection, manipulation, and interpretation. Additionally, academic, social, and personal growth will occur from this out-of-comfort-zone experience.
I am so excited to be able to do this, and your contribution will help make this amazing learning experience possible. To learn more, follow the links or contact me at
